What is Concepción?
“Concepción" has two separate meanings to it, the idea and the origin, and the other is my grandma's name.  The concept of the brand is to express myself through my inspirations and my culture.
Typographical Designs
Most of these were done on my iPad using Procreate and Adobe Fresco. I wanted to test out both applications to see how they could be tossed into my workflow for when I wanted to just draw, write, or jot down whatever came to mind. These designs all come from things that have inspired me throughout my design career.
Olimpiadas
This is a twist on the work that Eduardo Terrazas and Lance Wyman did for the 1968 Olympic Games. The Olympics that year were hosted by Mexico and it was the first time the Olympics were held in Latin America. There is so much history when it comes to these Olympics, good and bad, that has to be recognized.
La Patria
I found this font designed by, Gawx, a Mexican filmmaker, artist, and creative, he does it all. it came at the time where I started to get into typography and I was deep into creating the "Olimpiadas" graphic and I loved it because he was also inspired by the 68 Olympic Games.
I popped it into Illustrator to first figure out how I wanted it to even look. He made two separate typefaces for this font, a thin version and a bold version. I tried both and ultimately decided to go with the bold because I wanted it to stand out. The font is named, Mexico 26, and I wanted to show the beauty of the font and, excuse my bias, the most gorgeous flag.
Rotúlo
A "rotúlo," is a graphic that is painted somewhere to show you announcements of upcoming events. Growing up I used to see these painted on walls, buildings, etc.  They advertise so many different types of events with this style because of how much it pops and contrasts the wall that it is painted on.
The way I went about this one was freehanded and didn't really think too much of it. I wanted it to look sort of like a comic "bam" "pow."
Guerrero
"The Warriors," a movie from the late 70s, somehow became one of my favorite movies and video games when I was kid. When I reflect on the things I loved back as a child, I start to realize where my appreciation for fashion and design began. The costume design for this movie is one of my tops, when you look at the protagonist group, The Warriors, or the Punks, and especially the Baseball Furies.
This take on the famous Warriors font, I knew I had to do. This is one of the many times I reference this movie.
